Development of Teaching-Learning Skills for Mining and Geology Professors of Afghan Universities
by UNESCO Chair in Engineering Education at the Department of Mining Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Tehran


The training course "Development of Teaching-Learning Skills" was held by UNESCO Chair in Engineering Education in cooperation with the Department of Mining Engineering for professors of mining and geology of Afghan universities. The training course was held for one week. 25 professors of mining and geology from Kabul, Balkh, and Kabul Polytechnic Universities participated in the program. The purpose of this course was to provide methods to improve the quality of education and include a set of activities necessary during the preparation and implementation of a lesson or an educational program to have an acceptable level of education. In this course, topics such as purposeful teaching preparation, teaching-learning styles, measuring learning achievements, teaching experiences, quality control of educational programs are presented for a total of 20 hours in five workshops.
 

 

 

New developments in the upstream and downstream oil and gas industries for Syrian engineers
At the Institute of Petroleum Engineering, College of Engineering, University of Tehran


By the expansion of international cooperations and knowledge transfer in the field of oil, gas, and refining, an intensive training course entitled "new developments in the upstream and downstream oil and gas industries" has been held.  With full consideration of health protocols, 60 graduates and experts in the field of oil and gas from Syria were trained for 190 hours in two sections in February and March 2021. The two sections were: (1) general oil and gas and (2) specialized downstream and upstream oil and gas
This course was held with the cooperation of faculty members of the College of Engineering and specialists in related fields of oil and gas and refining. During the course period, students visited the Tehran refinery and other local companies active in the field of oil and gas. At the end of the training program, passing the final evaluation, a certificate of completion is awarded by the University of Tehran.
