Message of the Dean
Since its es tablishment in 1934, the College of Engineering has been always moving in the forefront of engineering education through offering diverse and high quality programs in bachelor, master, and PhD levels. Currently, it is the largest engineering college in Iran with an enrollment exceeding 8000 students. The College is ranked 48 in Shanghai Ranking System. At the College of Engineering, our mission is to foster students' competencies so that they will have a set of capabilities needed to face real challenges through offering practical solutions. We believe that the main goal of the engineering practice is to benefit humankind by creating a sus tainable world as a critical factor. Therefore, engineering ethics is always a concern and we draw our teaching and research lines for a better life and to guarantee a sustainable future.
That's why water, energy, and environmental issues are the focus of many research projects conducted by our research teams. Our courses are designed so that the students start with basic –and at the same time, important courses, and become professional engineers during their career. Within this period, they work on cutting-edge tech projects. Leaving the College of Engineering, they are equipped with a vast knowledge of the la test tools and equipments, with hands-on abilities for experimen tal work. An assessment system monitors the quality of our education programs constantly.
After 80 years of leadership in science, education, and innovation, we aim to extend the learning capacities and opportunities be yond borders through creating a world-class college. In this regard our office of international relations is responsible for designing in ternationalization strategies, and a council of 11 schools' representatives are engaged in planning programs to establish firm and fruitful bilateral and multilateral collaboration with internationally-well recognized entities.
